How To | Multicare X - Scales US
Find out how Multicare X Scale is revolutionising healthcare with innovative, new technologies and features.
The Multicare X is equipped with a weighing system that allows for a patient to be weighed in bed.
Before admitting a patient, two options can be done, either ensure the scale is at zero/zero the scale, or perform proper New Patient Admission procedure. Check out this article Multicare X New Patient Admission for more information on New Patient Admission.
The patient should be out of bed while standard bedding and equipment are in place.
Access the scales from the home screen by pressing the SCALES tile. The left window indicates the patient's current weight, while the right window shows weight change, if any.
Check the green weight indicator in the middle as it flashes indicating scale stabilisation is in progress, while it becomes solid green when the stabilisation process is completed. Other buttons can be found at the bottom of the screen to ZERO, FREEZE, and SAVE weight.
To zero the scales, check nothing and no one is touching the bed, press the ZERO button and follow the pop-up instructions on the display, depending on what needs to be accomplished. The LCD screen pop-up guides through the entire process, select current weight, weight change, or both to reset. Confirm selection, follow further pop-up instructions to set the bed to a horizontal position, and continue scales taring or zeroing.
The freeze function allows for adding and removing bed accessories and other items, without affecting weight measurements on the Multicare X scale. Do not forget to always check if the scale is stabilised before pressing the freeze icon, follow further pop-up instructions to add or remove accessories.
The save function records the patient's weight in the scales history. Save one weight value per day and access it for future reference. Access recorded scales history through the three-dot icon in the top left corner of the screen. It is also possible to hide weight information by choosing discreet mode.
