The Eleganza 5 I-Drive Power is a handy, reliable option that helps to facilitate patient transport.

To operate I-Drive Power, unplug the bed from the mains, and unlock the brakes to start.

The I-Drive Power does not rely on the green GO button, unlike other features of the Eleganza 5 bed. To start with the I-Drive Power, activate it by pressing the ON button located on the activation panel just below the headboard of the bed. After the ON button is pressed and I-Drive Power is activated, the fifth wheel will lower to the floor to help with steering and moving the bed easily.

To manoeuvre the bed after the fifth wheel is activated, place a hand on the I-Drive Power handle. As a safety feature, ensure the palm of the hand is firmly pressed against and makes full contact with the activation area. Operate the drive system with the respective control buttons which can be pressed by the thumb when the hand is in full contact with the activation area.

Buttons on the I-Drive Power Handle include:

• Forward
• Reverse
• Fast Forward
• Stop Drive

Note: To stop the bed, simply remove the hand on the activation area, or press the Stop button. With the hand off the activation area, the bed will stop immediately.

When done and the bed is in place, remember to retract the fifth wheel by pressing the OFF button on the I-Drive Power activation panel. Set the brake and plug the power cable to the appropriate outlet when finished transporting the bed and patient safely.
