How To | Eleganza 5 - Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg
Gain an understanding of the Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg positions with Eleganza 5, their applications and benefits for medical practices.
Use the Eleganza 5 - Trendeldenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg feature to quickly and safely reposition the patient in bed.
In case of an emergency, the red Trendelenburg button flattens the bed and puts the patient's body in a horizontal position with the head down or feet up. The Trendelenburg position may be the first choice during patient collapses connected with lower blood pressure.
The Trendelenburg position is also very often used during central venous catheter insertion to prevent an air embolism.
If not in an emergency situation, the Eleganza 5 also offers the second choice of using the grey Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg buttons, making the bed an ideal choice for any user. These functions can be used to assist in comfort or rehabilitation. The grey Trendelenburg or Reverse Trendelenburg functions tilt the bed with the head down/feet up or head up/feet down respectively, and the bed profiling remains unchanged.
The main difference between the red Trendelenburg and the grey Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg options comes from the red Trendelenburg option flattening the bed during emergency situations, while the grey Trendelenburg/Reverse Trebdelenburg allows for the bed to be elevated from either end without changing the bed profile for improved comfort instead.
