According to guidelines, nursing staff or carers should sit the patient up to 30º to 45º. Sitting or the standard Fowler's Position, improves breathing and provides a better gas exchange.

The Eleganza 5 - 30°/45° STOP function provides effective and extra comfortable support for patients who spend long periods of time in bed.

Nurses usually don't measure to the exact degree but to estimate the proper positions, the Eleganza 5 bed has an effective 30°/45° STOP function.

The bed also has an angle indicator that allows nurses to quickly check and know the exact angle of the bed when needed.

If the bed is equipped with automatic stop to backrest at 30° and 45° then this function works on every control element which allows backrest adjustment. It is still highly recommended however, to use the autocontour button for a sitting up position.

For more information on how to use the Eleganza 5 - 30º/45º STOP, watch the video below.
