The Eleganza 5 Lateral Turn Assist, allows people with mobility issues to turn while in bed, providing extra support and stability for both carer and patient.
The lateral turn assist helps with turning and is a feature that is designed mainly for safety, to prevent carer and patient injuries. When turning, the lateral turn assist provides and creates a more gentle turn for the patient, with pressure ulcer prevention through improved ease of repositioning.
To activate turn assist, ensure that the side rails are up to the direction that the patient is turning, and as a safety feature, the bed will not tilt with the side rail down.
Start by pressing the green GO button then use the left foot pedal to turn the patient effortlessly with Eleganza 5's lateral turn assist toward the carer. The bed can be tilted during this time at approximately five to eight degrees or just until the patient's weight shifts, then turn the patient forward toward the carer. To turn the patient back to flat or towards the other side, use the right foot pedal and adjust the patient accordingly.
