How To | Eleganza 2 - Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg
Learn how to use the red Trendelenburg and grey Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg with the Eleganza 2.
The Eleganza 2 along with other Linet beds are built for everyday safety and comfort; offering, for instance, the Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg positions to better support the patient and improve comfort, or in case of an emergency.
The Trendelenburg or Reverse Trendelenburg can be used by pressing the green GO button on the Accessory Control Panel (ACP) first, then pressing and holding the red Trendelenburg button, or grey Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg buttons until the desired position is reached.
The red Trendelenburg button will flatten the bed and put the patient's body head down, to help during patient collapses connected with lower blood pressure.
Also known to be used often during central venous catheter insertion, the Trendelenburg position helps by preventing air embolism. The Eleganza 2 offers the second choice of using the grey Trendelenburg button along with the reverse Trendelenburg button to easily tilt the bed head up or down, while the bed profiling remains the same, improving patient comfort, also preserving individual settings in specific situations.
The main difference between the red Trendelenburg button and the grey Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg buttons, on the Eleganza 2 is that the red one activates the Trendelenburg position and flattens the bed, while the grey Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg buttons let the nurse or carer tilt the bed to the desired position just enough to help improve patient comfort without essentially flattening the bed automatically.
