The Multicare X bed is equipped with a convenient and easy-to-use weighing system that allows the patient to be weighed in bed.

Upon new patient admission, zero the scales or perform a complete new patient admission procedure. Note: Please refer to the Multicare X New Patient Admission for more information.

To start the weighing process, do the following:

• Check that the patient is out of bed, but standard linens and equipment are in place.
• Press the “SCALES” tile from the home screen.
• The weight window labeled “CURRENT WEIGHT” should show the patient's current weight.
  • Note: Please wait for the green weight indicators at the bottom to stop flashing to check the weight. It will continue flashing while the bed is still stabilising.
• Check the screen for other options: Save button, Zero, and Freeze. There are 0,5 and 0,1 buttons to display weight at a higher accuracy of the scale for a brief moment.
• To zero the scales, ensure no one or nothing is touching the bed. Press the zero button when ready, follow the popup on the LCD screen to guide through the entire process.
• The LCD screen will always pop up additional instructions as needed, check to be reminded of proper bed preparation, or to proceed to the next step of the weighing process.
  • Note: Always check the bed is in a horizontal position, without any sort of varied recline, press the dedicated button to do so.
• Proceed with scales taring.
• Press freeze when adding or removing accessories and other items on the bed without changing the current weight value.
  • Note: Follow the guide and only add or remove accessories when told to “Attach/Remove all required accessories.”
• Press the save button to save one weight value per day.
• For weight history, press the three-dot icon on the top status bar. 
• Current patient weight is displayed on the scales screen and the home screen. Discreet mode can hide patient weight information, when activated, the scales tile and scales screen won't show patient weight information.
