How To | Multicare X - X-ray
Discover the advantages of Multicare X Xray and learn how it can revolutionise diagnostic imaging results.
When patients are in need of an x-ray, the Multicare X bed makes the process easier.
In bed x-ray imaging is possible with all intensive care beds via the radio translucent mattress platform and an integrated x-ray cassette holder beneath the patient's chest area. These features enable the procedures to be performed comfortably in bed with minimal risk to patient and even the carer.
For optimal results, check that the patient is aligned, use the indicators on the inside of the bed (footboard, headboard, and both side rails) for optimal patient positioning. These indicators help to properly centre the patient's body.
Start the x-ray process with the cassette holder located on the left side of the patient's bed, follow the steps below:
- Place the backrest in the lowest position and put the side rails up.
- Insert an x-ray cassette of the standardised format (350mm x 450mm), inside the holder.
- Push the holder in until the centre yellow line indicator is aligned with the edge of the bed.
- Adjust the holder if needed, in both ways, either laterally or horizontally.
- Ensure the cassette is fully inserted in the cassette holder.
- Adjust the backrest when the patient's condition allows it.
- Use and check the digital indication of the backrest angle on the screen to adjust the parametres of the x-ray device.
Note: For everyone's safety, in case the x-ray cassette holder is not fully inserted, the bed will give a warning to prevent any damage, while positioning the backrest up.
