How To | Latera - Mobilisation Position
Learn about Latera's approach to optimising mobilisation position, enabling a more comfortable and safer sitting and standing position.
The early mobilisation process is key in every segment of hospital care. The mobilisation button on the Latera bed Accessory Control Panel (ACP) was invented to help carers/caregivers, nurses, and patients, while also making the mobilisation process easier and more convenient for everyone.
To start with the mobilisation position on the Latera bed, press the green GO button, then press and hold the mobilisation button on the ACP (if configured). When pressed, the backrest will raise up, while the entire bed will go into the lowest position to help the patient reach the floor. For even better stabilisation and ergonomics use the lateral tilt feature to tilt the bed a further three to five degrees or until the patient can reach the floor comfortably.
To help the patient in standing up, adjust the bed height up and ask the patient to keep their feet on the floor. When done correctly, and with the bed further assisting the patient, it will bring the patient to a standing position without any additional physical effort.
