For improved patient and carer or nurse safety, the Eleganza 5 bed has a central brake to activate and deactivate the bed brakes.

 Three brake positions include:

  1. Stop - brakes are activated, the bed will not move anywhere when pushed. It is not possible to move the bed.
  2. Neutral - all castors are unbraked, the bed will move in any and all directions.
  3. Go - all castors are unbraked with one castor steering either the front left or fifth castor is activated, the bed will move forward and backward but it is not possible to move the bed sideways.
