Learn how to use the Eleganza 4 - Passive Leg Raise test to assess patient fluid responsiveness.
The Eleganza 4 Passive Leg Raise Test is an in-bed test and a great way to assess fluid responsiveness for patients while in bed.
The passive leg raise test is an assessment of fluid responsiveness and is a non-invasive procedure done and performed in accordance with sepsis guidelines.
Usually starting in the vascular position, to perform the passive leg raise test with the Eleganza 4, do the following:
- Press the green GO button.
- Press and hold the reverse Trendelenburg button until the patient is up to approximately 45°. Note: The tilt can and will be adapted to the doctor's needs or instructions.
- Press the Trendelenburg button and tilt to achieve a horizontal position of the patient's torso.
- For additional adjustment and if needed, press the backrest down button to lower the patient's body further.
For an even easier way to go into a flat position, press the examination position foot pedal to adjust.
