The Eleganza 3 alerts with the Bed Exit Alarm to prevent patients from falling out of bed when unassisted. Turn on the bed exit alarm by pressing the BED ALARM icon button on the foot of the bed or right on the ACP, Accessory Control Panel.
When using the bed exit alarm on the Eleganza 3, check the following:
- Ensure the patient is centred in the bed.
- Press and hold the bed alarm button until it beeps.
- Check the green light indicator is ON and illuminates the side or the desired zone. Note: The bed exit alarm will always default to the most sensitive zone.
When changing the zone to an out-of-bed zone, check and do the following:
- Touch and hold the out of zone button until it beeps and illuminates green.
- Press and hold the bed alarm button until it beeps again, to turn the bed alarm off. Note: If the bed alarm is on and moves out of the selected zone, the alarm will sound. If the patient returns to the starting zone within seven seconds the alarm will rearm automatically.
When getting the patient out of bed, do the following:
- Check and turn off the alarm.
- Ensure the alarm is reset each time the patient returns to bed, to ensure patient safety every time.
