Hand check for CuroCell® A4
- Why is hand check important? Hand check is performed to ensure that the mattress system works properly.
- When should I perform a hand check? A hand check should be performed regularly, preferably once per work shift as well as after installation of the system.
- How do I perform a hand check? Note: Make sure that the mattress system is filled, and that the system has adapted to the user before performing a hand check.
How to perform a hand check depends on which mattress is used, refer to the following:
Overlay Mattress CuroCell® CX10
- Open the cover
- Identify the cell with less air at the user's sacrum
- Insert a hand between CuroCell® CX10 and the underlying mattress, beneath the user's sacrum
- Ensure there is margin between the user and the underlying mattress, so that the user doesn't “bottom out”.
Replacement Mattress CuroCell® CX15
- Open the cover
- Identify a cell with less air at the user's sacrum.
- Insert a hand between the top cells and the underlying safety mattress, beneath the user's sacrum.
- Ensure there is margin between the user and the underlying safety mattress, so that the user doesn't “bottom-out”.
Replacement Mattress CuroCell® CX20
- Open the cover
- Identify a cell with less air at the user's sacrum.
- Insert a hand under the cell with less air, beneath the user's sacrum.
- Ensure there is margin between the user and the underlying safety mattress, so that the user doesn't “bottom-out”
