For safety, and to prevent unintended movement when using lateral tilt, or automatic lateral therapy with an angle over 15 degrees, it is necessary to use stabilising pads.

A special set of stabilising pads or cushions can be purchased and is available as a set accessory to the Multicare X bed. With 21 cushions, the set provides comfort and secure positioning for patients. It covers stabilisation needs of various types of patients and provides a total body fixation solution when used in conjunction with the lateral tilt function. The cushions come in a combination of foam and pearl balls pillows, in different shapes and sizes.

Get the most out of the stabilising pads and cushions with the following:

  • Foam pads - help create a frame as firm support around the patient.
  • Straps - help to connect foam pads at the foot section of the bed.
  • Mobi-Lift - helps for better frame stabilisation when configured correctly.
  • Pearl ball pillows - are moldable, help support and underlay individual body parts
  • Triangle pad - best in between legs
  • Long pads - along or surrounding the body
  • Small square pads - for around the head area
  • Small cushions - extra cushions to underlay body parts e.g., hands, feet, shoulders, etc.

Note: It isn't a must to use all cushions, customise and use accordingly depending on the needs of each patient.

Always perform a test when fixation is completed to ensure that the patient is well secured in bed. All cushions and pads are made of washable and disinfectable material for easy care and maintenance.
