The Multicare X I-Drive Power is an option that helps facilitate patient transport.

Set an appropriate height for the bed prior to using I-Drive. Make sure when hands are placed on the bed that arms are at a 90-degree angle to ensure comfort and avoid strain.

To operate I-Drive Power:

• Unplug the bed.
• Switch the brakes to the go position.
• Activate the drive system by pressing the “ON” button.
• Ensure a hand is on the I-Drive Power Handle, with the palm in full contact with the activation area.
• Respective control buttons operate the drive system, go forward, reverse, fast forward, and stop as needed.
  • Note: The palm of your hand MUST be in full contact with the activation area for I-Drive Power to operate.
• Stop the bed with the “STOP ” button, or remove the hand in contact with the activation area. 
• Retract the fifth wheel by pressing the “OFF” button.
• Set the brakes and plug in the power cable.

The I-Drive Power handle can be on the headboard, or on the IV and drive pole. IV and drive pole can also be used as a transportation handle for the bed when the headboard is not available.
