Passive Leg Raise Test (PLR) is a test that is used to assess the patient's fluid responsiveness while in bed. The PLR test is a non-invasive procedure done and performed in accordance with sepsis guidelines.

The patient in bed could start in the vascular position. To perform a passive leg raise test, press and hold the Reverse Trendelenburg button on the Latera bed Accessory Control Panel (ACP) until the patient is sat up to approximately 45 degrees.

Note: This tilt is adapted according to the doctor's instructions or needs for the passive leg raise test.

After being sat up to approximately 45 degrees, use the Trendelenburg button to eventually raise up the legs enough for the PLR test. The tilt should achieve a horizontal position of the patient's torso. Adjust the backrest further by pressing the backrest down button to lower the patient's body.

Press the examination position button for the easiest way to go into a flat bed position. The examination position button helps with flattening the bed while also putting it in the highest position at the same time.
