The new patient function of Multicare X is a procedure that aims to help carers and patients right at the beginning of the admission process. It provides a step-by-step guide, preparing the bed for the admission of a new patient.

Immediate access via two ways to easily start the process.

• Local menu - via the three-dot icon at the top left corner of every screen.
• Scales - via the “Scales” icon, where the new patient button should appear on the top right of the page after pressing.

To start the new patient admission process, follow the steps below:

1. Tap the “NEW PATIENT” icon and activate the function. 
2. The bed will ask for confirmation if existing bed data can be reset. Make sure to double-check, this erases and resets all scales, patient histories, and mattress settings. 
3. Press the green tick button to start the preparation step/preparation of bed for new patient. 
4. Place the bed in a horizontal position to continue preparation. The patient cannot be in bed, attach all needed bed accessories and make the bed. 
5. Wait for 10 seconds, the time it takes for the bed to set up upon confirmation. Do not touch the bed! Wait until the entire process is finished.
6. After the Multicare X resets, bed is ready for new patient. Press the green tick button again to finalise reset of scales, histories, and mattress settings.
