This article teaches how to extend the Latera bed for extra space and improved comfort.
The Latera bed or mattress platform is able to extend your existing sleeping area, providing you with extra sleeping space without the need for a larger bed. There are two safety catches on both sides of the bed's foot section. To start with bed extension, simply turn the catches by 90 degrees to unlock the system.
To start with the Latera bed extension, pull the footboard out as far as it is required. Note: Bed extension can be 100mm. Ensure the wire retainer located under the mattress is adjusted to the extension position to support the mattress. Remember to turn BOTH safety locks back by 90 degrees to securely lock the extension position properly. It is possible to also move the footboard until the locking point of the extension is reached.
It is best to pull the mattress towards the foot end of the bed to utilise the benefits of the mattress in the delicate heel area. Fill in the area underneath the head with a foam block, among other options.
