General Purpose Slings are designed to be easy and safe to use, suitable for both home and institutional patient lifting. They are typically made of polyester fabric or mesh material, which is suitable for bathing, and includes internal padding in areas of pressure. The slings feature webbing attachment loops, which are color-coded for sizing to enable easy sling selection and identification.

The webbing loops come in varying lengths at each connection point, allowing for a lay-back posture for the patient or, by using the shortest loops, a higher lift.

It is important to note that General Purpose Slings can only be used with lifting hoists that are fitted with a yoke attachment to ensure safety during use.
