How To | Ave2 Birthing Bed - Linen
Learn about the features and benefits of the Ave2 Birthing Bed and the different linen options available to suit your needs.
Changing the covers of the AVE 2 bed is easy, ensure to start with clean linen and follow the steps below.
Start by covering the middle section of the foot end of the bed. With a flat sheet folded in half, tuck all sides in, top, sides, bottom/ends to make it look neat and covered. If the flat sheet ends up being bulky underneath, just push the mattress top onto the bed frame to flatten. When covering the middle section, there are pegs to the AVE 2 bed that will help with securing the sheet in place.
Next, get the sheet to be used for the upper half section of the bed, ensuring the soft, calming linen creates a comfortable and safe area for the patient. The sheet should cover the entire upper portion of the bed first, tuck in the top, sides and bottom, leaving enough sheet to cover the U cut out at the bottom. The pegs will help secure sheets in place, ensure there is enough of the sheet not tucked tightly under the mattress so it will not come undone, tear, or create any discomfort when the patient is in bed. When a good part of the sheet is left untucked, it enables the foot end of the bed to move up and down with ease.
Don't forget the pillowcases to match, these are used to cover up the foot supports and the calf supports. Leave portions uncovered as needed, for example: if there is a delivery, it's possible to leave the foot supports uncovered, and not remove the pillowcases.
These steps enable for the AVE 2 Bed to be covered with fresh, clean linen quickly and efficiently, even without specially made sheets and covers.
