The Image 3 bed has a one-button Cardiac Chair option that allows for a full upright orthopneic position for cardiac patients. The cardiac chair option works and can also be a part of a patient's early mobilisation process.

Before engaging the cardiac chair option, ensure all side rails are raised. Press the green go button, then press and hold the chair button until the head of the bed reaches the highest angle or just as high as the patient can tolerate.

There are plenty of advantages to the cardiac chair position, particularly pulmonary benefits. Improve patient comfort and ensure the position is comfortable for the patient by adjusting the head of the bed as well as the knee and foot of the bed. For example, lower the head of the bed and adjust to make the knee and foot of the bed higher. Other than its health benefits, the Image 3 Cardiac Chair also offers an ergonomic design, great for dining, and works as a breastfeeding chair, among others.
