A Roho cushion is a specialised type of cushion designed to relieve pressure and provide support for individuals who spend long periods sitting down, particularly those who use wheelchairs. It is made up of a series of interconnected air cells that adjust to the shape of the user's body, redistributing pressure away from high-pressure areas such as the buttocks and tailbone. The cushion can be adjusted by adding or removing air from the cells to provide a customized level of comfort and support. Roho cushions are often used by people with spinal cord injuries, paralysis, or other mobility impairments to prevent pressure injuries and improve overall comfort and mobility.

Roho cushions were first introduced in the 1970s by a company called Roho, Inc., which stands for "Reaching Out with Hands of Opportunity". The company was founded by Robert H. Graebe, an engineer who developed the cushion to help his wife, who had multiple sclerosis.

They are made of durable, flexible neoprene rubber that is heat-sealed to create the interconnected air cells. The air cells come in different heights and can be adjusted to provide varying levels of support and pressure relief.

The design of Roho cushions allows for better circulation and oxygenation of the skin and tissues, which can help prevent pressure injuries and skin breakdown. The cushions also promote better posture and spinal alignment, reducing the risk of back and neck pain.

Roho cushions come in a variety of sizes and shapes to fit different types of chairs and bodies. They can be used in wheelchairs, office chairs, car seats, and even on airplanes.
