Press the green GO button to start, press and hold the chair button until the chair reaches the highest angle or as high as the patient can tolerate for maximum comfort. The cardiac chair position has known pulmonary benefits and can be used for an upright chest x-ray or swallowing study.

For patient comfort, lower the head of the bed, and further adjust the knee and foot sections as needed.

Also use the cardiac chair position for dining or for breastfeeding patients.
